Mount Ararat Community Activity Center (MACAC)

Who We Are:

The Mount Ararat Community Activity Center, Inc. (MACAC) was established in 1990 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. MACAC is committed to helping Pittsburgh families and individuals through outreach. MACAC provides a variety of programs, services, resources, and information to the community and promotes collaborative efforts with entities that are vital to the community. Their vision is to strengthen fundamental family values so that families continue to function in a healthy and empowered manner. They understand the importance of creating opportunities for vulnerable families and individuals. The specific mission of MACAC is to improve the quality of life of families and individuals throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Community by: 1. Empowering families and individuals to become productively independent. 2. Foster conditions that assure the economic stability of families and individuals. 3. Provide programs and services that support and encourage functional family values. MACAC focuses on the family as a comprehensive unit and believes that this can promote fundamental change in the negative conditions that affect the quality of life for those we serve.

What We Do:

The organization provides the following help to single mothers and children: BRIDGES” After School Program Camp Harambee Computer Technology Center Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) Food and clothing bank Mentoring Seniors Activating Victory Vision and Youth (SAVVY) Program 21st Century After School Program
