What you'll learn

15 Chapters of Healing, Insight, and Growth

The Brown Mama Mindset is more than information—it’s transformation. This course is a blueprint for self-mastery rooted in cultural wisdom, personal accountability, and radical self-care. With over 6 hours of video content, guided assessments, and real-talk, each lesson is a mindset shift—an invitation to rethink how you move through life, love, and home.

1: Time Race

Focuses on all the ways that you've allowed time to transform you without your consent or acknowledgement.  We will begin understanding how to release time-deficit thinking and begin the journey toward developing your Brown Mama Mindset.

2: Nourished Roots

Examines how we can go about truly embracing self-care as well as the ways we can begin to go about getting the help we need to help us thrive.

3: Stop Losing Your Keys

You are challenged with reexamining your relationship with your family and your community.  Let's talk about it.

4: Accept Your Exceptionalism

Just how exceptional are you?  How much have you overcome to get to this present moment?  Let's write a mantra that focuses on who are you are as a Black woman and being grateful for all that it means to be one of our tribe.

5: Joy Reservoir

A huge part of mindset shifting is learning to manage your emotions.  In this chapter we'll talk about how to reframe your emotional focus in order to move toward a better mindset and emotional state.

6: Be Pretty

Focuses on remembering that everything physical has an equal emotional and spiritual vibration. Let's examine your version of pretty!

7 & 8: A House Is Not a Home

Focuses on what it means to have a home by recognizing that home has more to do with your internal health and wealth than it has to do with the things you put in it.

9: GodSpace

Talks about creating a space in your life that helps you dive deep into yourself and receive the clarity necessary to begin manifesting the life you want to live.

11 & 13: Male & Female Alliances

Examines the effectiveness of the male and female relationships in the Black community and ask us mamas to consider the ways in which we have allowed relationships that do not benefit ourselves, our children and our communities.

12: Insecure

Demystifies how systemic insecurity shows up in our lives and gives practical advice on overcoming it.

15: Sankofa

It is never taboo to go back and fetch what has been lost.  Have you been lost? Are you not comfortable or sure about who you are? As we end the Brown Mama Mindset let's start a new with the realization that fetching you is an ongoing, life-long project!

"Muffy does an awesome job in laying out a focus for brown mamas that includes the mother herself. Her writing directly and indirectly debunks a narrative that has conditioned Black women into work horses that serve all but herself. She's showing us that the mindset we need includes a personal inventory, an historical perspective and a cultural shift that creates and preserves our individual and collective legacy.”

“I think every brown mama must create her own blueprint, and this course gives guidance, examples, encouragement, and accountability to make this blueprint creation process so much easier to develop and maintain. I recommend this, because it’s going to give you the lines of reasoning and the considerations necessary to start rethinking and redesigning the aspects of your daily life that are in need of shifting for the better.”

Akilah

“Absolutely necessary for all Black women!!! I consider myself to be pretty mindful and one who engages intentionally in personal work so that I can continue to grow and be completely me. BUT!!! This work is inspiring (not even a strong enough word) me to a greater level of mindfulness and intention in connection to who I am as a Black woman. So many gems! So much to ponder!”
