Allegheny Valley Association of Churches
Who We Are:
The Allegheny Valley Association of Churches is a Christian agency made up of churches working together to meet the spiritual, social and physical needs of the community. The association helps residents of the Allegheny Valley area which includes Northeast Allegheny County and Northwest Westmoreland County with food, clothing, financial support, housing and transportation. The Brighter Future Supportive Services program assists clients in need of education, job training and employment assistance in order to reach their goals.
What We Do:
The organization provides the following help to single mothers and children: Ecumenical Worship Services Emergency Assistance Energy Assistance Family Promise of the AVAC (provide shelter meals and assistance for families experiencing homelessness) Food Bank Hospitality Homes MLK Scholarship Produce to People Summer Camp Scholarships Supportive Services Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
