This is What Brown Mommys is All About!

Thank you so much to all of the ladies who came out to Saturday's Brown Mommy Mixer.  If you weren't there you missed out on  meeting some of the best mommies I've ever met.

This is really an exciting time for the group.  Everyday I am meeting more moms who take motherhood seriously, are interested in tearing down the stereotypes and barriers of Black motherhood and most importantly, love their kids and want to enrich their family life.

We had some old and new members attend, and enjoyed some great conversation.  We are well on our way to building some organic and substantive relationships that will serve as the foundation for the huge support group Brown Mommys will eventually be.

What we discovered during the meet-up is that we are all in the same boat.  Many of us are dealing with the same issues of finding schools for our kids, dealing with our husbands and significant others and finding "me time" in the whirlwind that is motherhood.  But, there's no need to do it alone.  Our next meet-up will be a family-friendly outing at the end of August at 720 Music, Clothing & Cafe.  Stay connected to the blog, like Brown Mommys on Facebook or follows us on Twitter (@BrownMommys) to get updates on Meet-ups, kid-friendly events around the city and parenting advice.
