Storytelling Series Continues with Donald Crews

I first learned about author Donald Crews when my oldest son was about 2.  He loved trains and Donald Crews writes about them, a lot.  Now my 4 and 5-year-old love the stories to.  What's special about his stories is that they tell the stories of  Black culture in a simplistic, loving, non-stereotypical but still exciting way.  In addition, the descriptive nature of his writing and commonness of the characters are just right for teaching lessons during story time.  So, here's one of my boys' favorite books "Shortcut."  Press play and enjoy!
