Snowy? Cold? Nothing to do? #FunFoodFriday
Yesterday it became very clear to me that the below zero temps and blanketing snow would land me, my 3 boys and hubby in the house for most of the weekend. And if my brown mommy followers are anywhere near the Northeast, I'm sure you will be in the crib too. So, I will take on the responsibility of providing my readers with some entertainment on this #FunFoodFriday. A quick trip to your local market and you are on your way to some foodie fun, or at the very least a way to shut your kids up when they endlessly ask the question: Are we going anywhere today? So rather than dignify their unreasonable question with a response, stuff one of these in their mouths:

Try these pizza cats. I don't know for sure, because I found this on Pinterest without a recipe. But, it looks like you only need pizza dough, mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce. (Unless you have some slightly hood tendencies, as I do, and will supplement some spaghetti sauce). For the eyes you could use some pepper, a few dots of food coloring or M&Ms as a after-pizza treat.
Next you could let your kids eat some glitter. Just joking, but this sugar mixed with some food coloring are loads of yummy fun for your little ones. All you need is 1/4 sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of food coloring, baking sheet and 10 mins in oven. You can sprinkle them on a cake, cookies, cupcakes, or if you really want to get them wore out a few hours before bed, a cup full of sugar will bounce them off the wall and create a nice little melt down around 7:30 p.m.

Finally, if the little brown girl in you still longs for a tea party, try these no-bake teacups. Now I can give you the ingredients, but the recipe is just a tad more than I feel like typing, so you'll have to visit sheknows.com to get the dish on this one. To make these little treats you will need:
Vanilla sandwich cookie wafers
Reese's Miniature Peanut Butter Cups
Ice cream sugar cones (top 1-1/2 inch)
Circle pretzels (found in Chex Mix Sweet 'n Salty Honey Nut mix)
Chocolate frosting (chocolate pudding, chocolate ganache, etc.)
Chocolate or vanilla candy melts

If you're real serious about getting those teacups right, here's a video
Enjoy your weekend in!
