Moms: Motherhood is the Course

Yup! You're in it. You're on it right now. You are currently taking a course in life and you as a Black mother may not even be aware that this is the fight that will transform you. This is the life-class that will propel you to the next level. Motherhood is the course to get your crown!

I remember giving birth to my first son, then being depressed. Giving birth to my second son, then being depressed again. And finally, giving birth to my third son and being majorly depressed! What I didn't know then, and am just finding out now is that my #momlife is what has made me resilient. My mommyhood has given me strength to get up everyday and live, and even more so has given me the courage to live with not just freedom, but sovereignty on my own terms.

Yes! Waking up at all hours of the night with screaming infants and than toddlers was hard. It's also difficult to talk to a teenager who thinks he knows everything. It is equally stressful to clean rooms again, and again and again. This is all without mentioning the constant message that Black women are "unmotherly" in a world that says Black women can be anything, BUT good mothers. But, THIS IS THE COURSE.
