Make Your Mommy Uniform

One of the hardest things about being a mom is staying stylish.  i I get up by 5 a.m. every day to make it to work, so I ain't got time to mess with clothes.  Not to mention, going back and forth to work, cleaning the house (the infamous bleach stains that dot everything in my closet) and chasing after pets have  put a lot of miles on my favorite outfits.  Solution: Busy moms need to make a mommy uniform.  These are clothes that are purchased or chosen specifically with mommy time in mind.

#1. Stretch Pants -- this is my favorite mommy trend of all time.  I'm so happy they are back in style.  Stretch pants are versatile.  You can pair them with an over-sized blouse & wedges for work, or throw on a t-shirt to work out.  Stretch pants last all day not matter where you are going.  Plus, they allow you the flexibility of moving around with the kids without feeling like something is going to fall out.  Just be carefully because they can be unflattering if worn incorrectly. Just make sure the booty gets shade with a thigh length shirt.

#2. Flat Shoes or Sneakers -- I just brought a pair of these Bob Marley Flats made by Toms at Burlington Coat Factory & they have transformed my mommy look.  They are great for rainy days (not drenching days) and to pair with some wide-leg jeans and a t-shirt.  The best thing about these shoes is that they are great if you know you're going to walking a lot -- very soft landing.  And, they only cost $10.  Regardless of brand, if you are a mommy you need a pair of flat, casual shoes.  The Bob Marleys come in khaki, jean, black & this sandalwood look you see above.

#3.  Over-sized Blouses or Shirts -- Saving the best for last.  Nothing, I mean nothing accents the mommy wardrobe better than  over-sized shirts.  You need about 10 of these.  You can pair them with everything and they cover a multitude of food sins.  They're great for work, date nights and play dates. Speaking of date nights, join us for our Brown Mommys Mixer this Saturday.
