Let's Talk Hair - Chemical Free and Proud
When I was little, my Mom forbade me to get a perm. She told me my hair would fall out, get damaged and I'd be bald-head. So, for most of my life, I've basically been chemical free sans a few mishaps. Let's just say my mother's words came to fruition as mother's words of wisdom often do.
For that reason, I won't put chemicals in my daughters' hair and I hope as they grow, they continue to live a chemical-free lifestyle.
We are, what I would like to call, Chemical-Free Naturalistas. We do use some heat on our hair, but the rest is just good old-fashioned shampoo, hair conditioner and grease. It's a process, but we have it down to a science. Having healthy, strong hair is worth it.
Here is a photo of my daughter's hair after it has been washed.

Then blow-dried with minimal heat.

...And Flat Ironed (Back)

Front...

Nice, right?
Here's my younger daughter's hair blow-dried....

And then flat ironed....

They only get heat on their hair occasionally. This most recent time was for back to school.
One good flat iron lasts a long time if they keep their hair wrapped up at night.
Here is a bonus photo of me after my hair has been washed, blow-dried and flat-ironed.

All of these looks were accomplished using African Pride's Olive Miracle Shampoo and Conditioner.
Products were provided to us as a part of the My African Pride giveaway we hosted earlier this month.

My opinion is my own. This stuff works wonders.
