Craft Time - Mommy Party Glasses

The thing I like most about crafting is that it's an inexpensive way to keep the kids occupied without spending a lot of money. Most importantly, it's good for your child's imagination and a great way to spend Mommy and me time.

A lot of our craft time is done by using everyday things we can find around the house.  For today's craft, we made these Mommy party glasses/vases. We used Crayola water color paints from Christmas and some old plastic martini and champagne glasses I had packed away.

Here is the final outcome. If you're interested in how to make this craft, keep reading.

What you'll need:

*A plastic martini or champagne glass from any party store

*Water Color Paints (Recommended: Crayola Washable Paint Kit - Comes with brushes and art smock)

*Garbage Bag to cover painting surface (makes clean up a cinch)

*Cup and paper towel to keep brushes clean

*Happy Little Kid ready to get creative

Once you're set up, you can just start painting the surface of the glass like so:

Once you've created your silly design, set the glasses somewhere to dry. Here are some of the cool concepts we came up with.

They can be used as party glasses for your next Mommy meet up:

Or you can use them like a decorative vase and put some nice flowers in them like this:

We even created a Tiffany inspired (middle) and fruit (right) motif to show you the possibilities are endless.

When my husband came home he said they were so nice, he thought we bought them somewhere.

Not bad for something I thought of on my feet, huh?

Here's the Crayola kit if you're interested. It's a great set to keep around the house for those MOM, I'M BORED days.  Really comes in handy.

HAPPY CRAFTING
